This weekend marks the 3rd NY Eye and Ear Festival in 2 years. Todd Pendu curates this gathering of NY record labels and bands that focuses on the loose knit posse of underground music that is all around us. Its a Locals only affair but its a real eye opener for everybody who goes. NY is so ridiculously vast-you will never know about every band or everything that’s going down. We run around, check out people we know, things we hear is good…but on any given nite there’s at least 2 or 3 different things i would do. Sometimes you can’t go to any …..thus a fest like this makes a lot of sense. And I usually am not a big fan of too many bands at one show but this is such a good way to snack on a bunch in one evening. Cinders has been involved since its inception and it just feels right. I always meet rad new people and get sweet new jamz. Being right down the block this year, I think we’re gonna have to conspire with Todd and have some music carry over from the fest into the gallery on Sunday. I’m playing on Saturday evening with DUBKNOWDUB, so thats extra good times. And we’re having a block party in front of Cinders that afternoon. And i’m having a yard sale bbq at my house! Ahhh, Its starting to feel like summa……finally.
